Post Post subject: SUMMER SCHOOL *daytime party* | Hodge School | Sat 6.23.07
Event: Sat Jun 23, 2007 12:00 pm

So if you do not already know, I live in an old elementary school-turned-apartment building in the ghetto on the East Side of Cleveland.

It is an artist community. Apparently, every summer there is a trolley tour of artist live/work studios, and Hodge School is the last stop on the tour.

I thought it would be entertaining to throw a party/bbq during the tour hours on Saturday, the 23rd of June.

date: Sat 23 June 2007
time: 1pm to 6pm
where: Hodge School
1075 e. 74th St
Cleveland, OH 44103

I have not organized any equipment or djs yet. I want to see who would be interested in participating.

We would be able to have the party out in the front yard, which is fenced in, or we could do it in the parking lot, which is also fenced in. We could also do it in the parking lot that is not fenced in or the side yard.

Should inclement weather arise, we could also do it in the hallway, though that could get complicated since people will be touring the building looking at various residents' artwork. In the event of rain, etc, IF NOTHING ELSE, we could hook up the stuff in my apartment and just leave the door open so that people could come in and check it out, etc.

I know 274058975 people with turntables, so that is not necessarily the problem, but I would need sound and djs.

If this sounds appealing, let me know. I will give this thread until Friday, 16 June 2007 before I determine if it should continue or not.

I gots 2x Numark TTX1 and a DJM400 Mixer that I could bring in.

so yeah.. once we get enough responses on here regarding equipment, then somebody has to say :: OK, WE GOT ALL THE SHIT WE NEED.. cuz i don't have a clue what a TKR-20934857 is.. heahehaeh..

also: this doesn't have to be limited to just that day.. provided i don't start working on saturday, i don't care what saturday this starts or how many saturdays it continues until i move out in september..

i just thought it would be cool to start it that day since there will be 'visitors'.. give 'em a little music to bop their heads to while they check out the art in the building..

right now i'm under the impression we have

*turntables
*a mixer
so whatever you can bring would be sweet.. i'll call toddy sometime today and see if he's down..

another thing: yes, i know i just went on a rant in the other thread about how much i sweat techno.. but, for this particular saturday (23 june) i WOULD like to have a range of music since there will be visitors on the premises. not so much that it has to be something they will love, but at least to get the point across that 'electronic music' is not all the same..

so far:
got some techno- randomseed and hopefully Technopalace boys
got some house-dwreck
got some dnb-sauce/emplate

**shub: either i just don't know your cnl name or i'm not actually sure who you are.. what do you play??

could use more house- coughgraphandrewscough
and maybe we can get some damnhippy drums or something..

any suggestions are welcome..

Like I said too if we can find a 1000 watt amp we got the start on a kicking system too.

ghettospaghetti, I am new to CNL thats prolly why no one knows me. I usually play progressive house and uplifting trance music.

Why are people hating on the TTX1? Although, I do have my little nuances with TTX1 like doesn't give really fine pitch control.

I use Torq/Connectiv so if anyone wants to bring in their iPod with music on them, you don't need to carry all your vinyl etc.

Cheers!

WTF am I, chopped liver? Unless you're mad at me and I'm no longer welcome...(remember Derek told me about this last night & I told you that I'd be down)
Wink

As for drums, ask Jason Alias or maybe even Neil Chastain if he'll be in town....
